Memorial Day Parade

MEMORIAL DAY PARADE!

Monday, May 27, 2024 at 9:00am

All New Canaan baseball players are invited to walk in the Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 27th. Please have all players wear a New Canaan Baseball jersey and/or uniform.

Please note: Players will not be chaperoned by team coaches and parents are invited to walk with their team/player.

Assembly:

Begins at 9:00 AM in Saint Mark’s Church parking lot on Oenoke Ridge.

Baseball is #20 in the line of march, directly behind the High School Band

All traffic will be directed to the northern most driveway for drop-off

Officers will be there to assist

9:30 AM Start Time

Parade Route:

The Parade steps off from St. Mark’s Church and proceeds down Oenoke Ridge Road to upper Main Street, past the Wayside Cross at God’s Acre, past the Firehouse and Town Hall, and continues down Main Street to Lakeview Cemetery. There, parade watchers and marchers gather with veterans and Town officials for remarks about the true meaning and purpose of the Memorial Day holiday.

Pick up after the parade:

Should occur on Main Street and Harrison Avenue

Officers will be there to assist

In the event of heavy rain, a cancelation notice will be posted on the Town website and a Memorial Ceremony will be conducted at Town Hall at 10:00 am with limited seating.
